Making my own personal video!!!

This is not my first time making a video using Windows Movie Maker, the first goes to my assignment for Technology for primary classroom where we have to produce a video for educational purposes. This time, we are allow to produce a video based on any theme out of education purposes. Finally, i can do a video on the most important people in my life and express my feelings!!! Yeay!!!

I never start any of my work early in these years studying this course but this time, i was so excited that I started planning and working on my task immediately after the lecture given by Pn Foziah. Very motivated to choose which photo to put in and edit the sequence of the video preperly.

After I had finish doing my video and convert it into video file, I went to adec to check what am i suppose to do next. Sadly, i found out that the limit for this task is 4 minutes but the video that i had produced ia almost 9 minutes!!! Oh my god!! Every part of the video is so important and significant in my four years studies in KL... What am I going to do?

Finally, i decided to shorten my video. I said goodbye to the photos that are not so important and shorten the whole video to four minutes... I hope the essence of the video still remains though I'd deleted many of the photos in my video.

Now, its time to upload my video and share them with my friends (especially those who appeared in my video). I cant wait to show them my video and get the message through. Sadly (again...), i couldn't upload the video. But, since there is still a couple of days to the dateline, i dod not worry much about uploading.

I thought my failure of uploading the video was due to the slow speed of my internet connection at home as I am still using dial-up at home!!! I went to my mom's colleague's house to get broadband connection... many times faster than the connection at home. After sitting there for 8 hours and troubling them to serve me tea and snacks on and off, i still couldn't upload the video. so i decided to try again the next day.

Days passed, i tried everyday, sitting in front of my laptop trying to upload the video. Until my dad almost barred me from using the internet i still couldn't upload the video. Sad and disappointed, i missed the dateline.

Till now, I still hope i am able to upload my video onto youtube in the same account with my friends so that the people that i'll like to address can view my video. If I will am not allowed to upload it into the same account with others, i'll still upload it on youtube and I hope that i can still get comments from all my coursemates so that i can improve on my work next time....

Fingers cross that i can upload my video onto youtube!

At last... I know for what i shoulld do photo editing!!

I kept wondering, for what purpose should I learn photo editing? If I were to take a photo and edit everything on it, then it is not the original and natural me. I prefer to have photos of myself that looks like me rather than having my photos edited and end up nobody recognizing that it is me.

But now, my views on photo editing had changed. Me and my dear Connie went to meet up with our seniors on their convocation day to see them for the last time before they are posted to places far away from KL. Knowing that we might not meet for sometime, we took a lot of photos.

For my height, I did not have much problem taking photos with Joey and Ming Kiat, they turn out to be nice but when it comes to Jarrod…. He is way too tall. All the photos turn out to be horrible. So I decided that I might as well stand on the stairs as the platform so that there wont be such a drastic difference in our height.

Unfortunately, my camera man Eliana did not take the photos properly and it can be clearly seen that I was standing on the stairs to look taller. Thanks to Photoshop I am able to crop the lower part of our legs so that people wont see that I am standing on a platform. Now the photo is perfect and I love the photo very much!!!

Besides cropping out part of the photo, I can also get rid of unwanted people in the photos. As we all know, right after the convo where everybody are busy taking photos with families and friends, and the place was sooooooo crowded!!! I do not need to worry that I have someone ‘extra’ in my photo.

Photo editing, a very useful skill that everyone should learn. We as teachers should master the skill so that we can use real life photos which are properly edited in classrooms.
